Principle Java Developer / Tech Lead - Home Based with 1 day a sprint in Cheshire - Java, Cloud, Agile, Scrum

We are looking for experienced Senior / Principle Java developers to develop the next iterations of market-leading software for our client. You will play a vital role as a member of one of the multiple Scrum teams in defining and creating new features to meet the needs of an expanding customer base. You will also be instrumental in the personal and professional development of scrum team members.

This is a hands-on role, combining scrum team members, active technical leadership, people management, and coaching a team of developers.
In addition, as a Principal Developer you will be responsible for the growth of developers (e.g. regular 1-to-1 coaching sessions); be a strong contributor to technological and business advancement, and encourage/support developer participation in community forums and sessions.
This client really looks after their employees and provides laptops and dual monitors, supported by licensed software such as Ultimate IntelliJ and PluralSight training courses.
Working for an expanding established market leader you will have a real voice to influence their evolution. Continued learning and progression are ingrained in daily life, encouraged through a variety of ways from e-learning subscriptions and a monthly down-tools day (“Hive Day”) and communities of practice for learning and experimentation.
This business has grown rapidly even during the pandemic, with over 35 hires being made (and counting) Each team is currently deciding their preferred way of working, with likely 1 day a 2-week sprint spent onsite.
The client is based in Cheshire, but a max of 1 day a fortnight would be spent on site. With a competitive pay grade and benefits package, the client would be looking to pay between £60,000 - £70,000 for a Principle Developer, with benefits including a bonus of up to 20%, 25 Days holiday, excellent pension, medical and life assurance.
Interviews would be completed with 1st and 2nd interview back to back, to ensure a fast process.
